ABOUT MY WORK:

Hats are my passion. I craft each one of my hats by hand-draping them out of felt. Each hat is a one-of-a-kind design, requiring hours of sculpting.

In the beginning of my millinery career, I was so inspired by early 20th century fashion, especially the hats from the 1920s. I draw inspiration from old silent films, vintage jewelry, buttons and fabrics. I was moved by the simplicity, elegance and good craftsmanship of millinery from this era.

A few years into my hat-making career, I realized that I was not only inspired by the 20s and 30s, but by the modern world as well. I also draw inspiration from architecture and nature — the things around me in my every day life. I noticed that whenever I take a walk around San Francisco, I am always looking at the roofs of the buildings, to admire their decorative roof hats. Even my homemade desserts are beginning to wear hats.

Now, I think of my designs as inspired by the vintage aesthetic and infused with modern simplicity, as well as my own personal style. I am very grateful for the endless inspiration given to me by the best of the both worlds.

Thanks for looking.
